Hey there!
I’m Charlotte Tisdale, a freelance illustrator and mural artist based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

I like to create joyful, sensitive illustrations with gorgeous colour palettes and funky characters and have applied my work to a range of areas, including: branding, editorial, marketing, murals, narrative and surface design. I am eager to continue to work on an array of illustration projects in those areas and many more.

I also love to design and use my own handwritten type in my projects; tying together text and image seamlessly, you'll probably notice this as you have a nosey through my website. Although my illustration practice is generally digital, all my projects start out in a sketchbook. I love when I can include hand-drawn elements to create texture and add character. Sometimes you'll even find me out painting huge murals in the real world!

When I'm not drawing, I'm probably: making my own clothes, cooking, watching a film or thinking about the fact that I really should read more, but not actually doing it. I also co-run a lovely little community here in Shropshire, a social sketching group called Sketch Club Severn - info and dates can be found here.

Like what ya see? Fancy working together?
Pop your ideas or questions in my contact form and let’s get cracking! You bring the biscuits and I’ll bring the pens and paper!

Testimonials
"We've first worked with Charlotte to paint a mini-mural on an Openreach box and were so happy with her work that we commissioned her to create a trail map and have since worked with her on other projects such as Christmas graphics"
- Emma Molyneux, Shrewsbury BID

"I worked with Charlotte when opening my cafe to create multiple designs and pieces and love them, she really bought my visions to life in a way I would've never thought to ... also she draws great eggs"
- Sophie Martin, The Good Egg Bakery

"I worked with Charlotte over the last few years within our mental health settings in Staffordshire and Shropshire [...] In both cases she came up with innovative and attractive designs with a colourful palette [...] Charlotte worked quickly and efficiently and was very professional and independent in managing her time and the materials/equipment. She was a delight to work with and very personable with our participants in the consultation process. The final, colourful murals create a really pleasant and interesting space for our inpatients to enjoy the garden spaces."
- Jess Kent, Arts for Health Lead, MPFT NHS
